Basic urine screen — infection, sugar, protein.
This is a basic look at your urine — both with a chemical dipstick and under a microscope. It checks for sugar, protein, blood cells, bacteria, and crystals. Together these tell your doctor whether your kidneys, urinary tract, and sugar handling are in good shape.
It is the cheapest and fastest way to screen for urinary infections, early kidney problems, undetected diabetes, or stones. Many general check-ups in Nepal include it by default, and it often picks up issues people did not realise they had.
Collect a mid-stream sample, ideally the first urine of the morning. Clean the area before collection. Avoid the test during your menstrual period if possible.
