Method: IHC
Detects CK7 protein in tumour tissue to identify the likely organ of origin for a cancer — CK7 is expressed in lung, breast, ovarian, and bladder cancers but not in colorectal cancer.
When cancer has spread and the origin is unclear, CK7 combined with CK20 staining is one of the key panels used to trace where the cancer began — guiding the entire treatment approach.
No preparation needed — performed on biopsy or surgical tissue.
