Hepatitis B screening — government recommended.
HBsAg is the "surface" protein of the Hepatitis B virus. If this test is positive, it means the virus is actively present in your blood — either as a recent infection or as a long-standing one.
Hepatitis B is often silent for years before it damages the liver. The government recommends screening as part of pre-employment checks, pre-marriage testing, before surgery, and during pregnancy. A simple blood test today can prevent serious liver disease later.
No special preparation needed. Eat and drink normally.
